Oxford - Day 4 (1 May)
Completely free day today. Gave home a call this morning - always great to hear my parents voices and get the updates on what's happening and how their cats and my dogs are going. Won't mention the fact that despite our 'several' discussions on the topic of 'please don't feed them too much', Slikees' harness was let out yesterday - and they are both being walked most days!!! I now have a fear when I arrive home I won't even be able to see their little legs ๐๐ฆฎ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฆฎ.
Very easy day today - headed out a bit after 12pm to grab some lunch at a Pub. Finally struck a slightly more English type Pub called the 'Cow and Creek'. I had a cheese, potato and leek pie and chips with a glass of house red and Sue had lasagne, salad and chips with an OJ - very yummy. We then headed off to the Ashmolean Museum - which is free!!
We decided to view the following exhibitions:
- European Art - early Italian Renaissance Art
- Music and Tapestry
- Ancient Egypt and Sudan
- Greek and Roman Sculpture.
Fantastic set-up and very easy to move around and explore. After about 90 mins we headed back to our now familiar bus stop in High St and headed home. Couple of light spits as we jumped off the bus and into the local Sainsbury supermarket for a couple of dinner items.
That's it for Oxford - tomorrow we are off to the airport to pick up our car rental and head for Chester (for the purpose of driving over to Wales & visiting Caernarvon Castle).
Stay healthy and keep smiling :)
Love following the adventures Rhon - keep them coming! And hope you shake the sniffles off soon๐
